Peter is Partner of Leaders By Design, an Executive Advisory and Coaching firm focused on supporting Senior Executives in advancing their personal and professional goals.

With over 30 years of industry experience, Peter—founder of Leaders By Design—provides executive coaching and consulting grounded in the latest leadership research and best practices in leadership development. He works closely with C-suite executives and Boards to navigate the challenges and opportunities of leading in today’s complex global workplaces, with a focus on managing transitions and driving effective change.

Peter has consulted and coached for DuPont, Merrill Lynch, Unisys, Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson, Lockheed-Martin, Oak Ridge National Laboratories, National Security Agency, American Airlines, US Department of Energy, PECO Energy, General Motors, Motorola University, Holiday Inn, WAWA, Lincoln Financial, AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Shire, ARAMARK, U.S. Trust, Shire, Woodlawn Trustees Inc, Ben Franklin Foundation, William Penn Foundation, Carnegie Corporation of New York, Western Railway Company of India, The Justi Group, Rockwell International Corporation, Independence IBC, Rohm & Haas, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, and the American University.

Dr. Dean worked for 8 years in Canada, Europe (Germany, Switzerland, UK, and Spain), and Asia (India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka) and has lectured, consulted, and/or coached in 13 countries.

Dr. Dean’s articles have been published in the Journal of Business Ethics, Human Resource Development Quarterly, Performance Improvement Quarterly, Performance Improvement Journal, Quarterly Review of Distance Education, Australian Journal of Educational Technology, Financial Times, Philadelphia Business Journal, Wealth and Retirement Planner, and GAMA International Journal. He was Editor in Chief of Performance Improvement Quarterly from 1996 to 2002.

Peter has been a Communication, Ethics, and Leadership lecturer at The Wharton School and the Fels Center of Government at The University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he has been on the faculty at Fordham University, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Iowa. Peter holds his Ph.D. in Learning Psychology and Human Resources Management from the University of Iowa and an MS in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania.
